Hard to say what I want for Man United here, Mourinho has made it clear the EL takes priority over the PL, he has said he may rest players against Arsenal. As we will be playing them shortly I guess I'd be happy for them to win as it will probably mean he'll rest players against us! Interesting that Celta de Vigo have been seriously resting players in the build up to this, they too are clearly taking it seriously. With the team in red's inability to kill teams lately it could be tougher for them than some might think...

Stunning free kick by Rashford puts Man Utd in the box seat. Vigo really needed a draw at least if they were going to hold any pretensions of progressing beyond the semis, I suppose the only thing they can hold on to is that a quick away goal at OT will put the tie back in the balance again, but I just don't see that happening on the evidence of tonight's game. Young looks like he might have a hamstring injury which is bad news for the team, Rashford himself limped off but I suspect he was making the most out of it to waste time. It should be straightforward next week.

    Ajax 4-1 Olympique Lyonnais

    Thu 04/05/17
Celta de Vigo 0-1 Manchester United

Man Utd take a 1-0 lead back to Old Trafford
for 2nd leg but should really be 3 or 4-0 but
once again poor finishing let down the Red Devils.

    Olympique Lyonnais 3-1 Ajax

    Thu 11/05/17
Manchester United 1-1 Celta de Vigo

Man Utd will play against Ajax in the final.

It was a pretty boring game until the last 10 mins
or so when Celta Vigo scored and we had 2 players sent off!

The play acting by former Man City striker John Guidetti that
led to Bailly's Red card was shocking as he went down holding
his face like he had just been knocked out by Anthony Joshua
so it was karma that he would miss chance late on to send Celta through.
